Beef Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or mushroom sauce alternative)
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Whisk together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, broth, and cornstarch to make the stir-fry sauce.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Sauté garlic and ginger, return beef to the pan, add broccoli, and pour in sauce.
  6. Stir-fry everything together until sauce thickens and evenly coats.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
