- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or mushroom sauce alternative)
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp oil for cooking
Instructions
- Marinate beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside for 15–20 minutes.
- Whisk together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, broth, and cornstarch to make the stir-fry sauce.
- Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain.
- Heat oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté garlic and ginger, return beef to the pan, add broccoli, and pour in sauce.
- Stir-fry everything together until sauce thickens and evenly coats.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
