Chocolate Chip Banana Bread (Moist, Easy & One Bowl)

This chocolate chip banana bread is ultra-moist, rich with ripe bananas, and loaded with melty chocolate chips. Made in one bowl with no mixer, it’s the perfect treat for breakfast, snack time, or dessert. Freezes well and is easy to customize!

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 medium overripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash bananas. Add eggs, oil, sugars, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Sprinkle flour, baking soda, and salt over the mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips (reserve some for topping).
  5. Pour into prepared pan and top with reserved chips.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
