- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 medium overripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas. Add eggs, oil, sugars, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
- Sprinkle flour, baking soda, and salt over the mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips (reserve some for topping).
- Pour into prepared pan and top with reserved chips.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
