200g all-purpose flour

50g unsweetened cocoa powder (natural or Dutch-processed)

150g sugar (white or brown)

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients:

2 eggs (or egg substitute)

120ml milk (dairy or plant-based)

120ml neutral oil or melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-ins:

150g chocolate chips or chocolate chunks

Optional:

1 teaspoon instant coffee (enhances chocolate flavor)

80g plain yogurt or sour cream for extra moisture

Chopped nuts, berries, or orange zest for variation

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200Β°C (400Β°F).

Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

Whisk the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients gently, without overmixing.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Divide the batter into muffin liners in a muffin pan.

Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.

Cool on a wire rack before serving.
