- 1 lb fresh jumbo lump crab meat (carefully picked over)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (halal-certified)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free alternative)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 large egg (optional, for binding)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare: Pick through crab meat to remove any shell bits. Pre-chill all ingredients.
- Mix: In a large bowl, gently combine crab meat, mayonnaise, mustard, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, green onions, and breadcrumbs.
- Shape: Form the mixture into baseball-sized crab bombs. Chill for 20–30 minutes.
- Cook: To bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown. To fry: Deep-fry in oil at 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes until crispy.
- Serve: Enjoy hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or lemon aioli.
