- 1/2 pound ground beef, turkey, or chicken
- 1/2 cup sugar-free marinara sauce or seasoned crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/4 small onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Olive oil spray (for baking dish)
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground meat over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Lightly grease an oven-safe bowl or small baking dish.
- Layer the cooked meat on the bottom.
- Spoon marinara sauce evenly over the meat.
- Top with shredded mozzarella, Parmesan (if using), and your choice of vegetables and seasonings.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
- Sprinkle with additional oregano or fresh basil before serving.
