Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (or plant-based meat)
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (no alcohol)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (or vegan alternative)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • Olive oil (for brushing cabbage)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Brush cabbage slices with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and roast for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground meat, garlic, green onions, parsley, chili flakes, half the cheese, salt, and pepper.
  4. Form patties and place on roasted cabbage slices.
  5. Top with tomato sauce and remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for another 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and patties are cooked through.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite toppings or sides.
